🌱 The Story Behind the Petals

It all started with tears on a Tuesday afternoon.

Two little girls came home from school with stories no parent ever wants to hear — playground taunts, cruel words, and that awful feeling of being left out.

As a mom who found peace in her garden, I knew there had to be a way to help my daughters grow stronger than the weeds trying to dim their light.

That night, with soil under my fingernails and seedlings in bloom, an idea took root: What if the same patience and care I used to grow flowers could help nurture resilient, confident little hearts?

Pom Pom Petals™ wasn't planned — it was needed. 🌙 Born from bedtime talks about bullies 💧 Watered with a mother's fierce love 🌸 Nurtured through countless tearful questions like, "But why are some kids mean, Mommy?"

I realized my daughters didn't need another perfect princess. They needed relatable flower friends — characters who knew what it felt like to be picked on, stepped on, or told they weren't enough… and who could show them how to bloom anyway.

This garden grew from real tears, real fears, and one real mission: To give children the social-emotional tools they need — not just to survive the playground, but to transform it with their kindness.

🌸Meet the Author

Chantelle Monique is a children's book author and mom from Milton, Ontario. Drawing on her family's love of gardening, she created the magical world of Blossom Hill Garden—a place where every child belongs and kindness always blooms.

Her two daughters played an important role in bringing the Petal Pals to life, reviewing every illustration and helping shape the story from the very beginning. Wilma Willow and the Weed Bullies is Book 1 in the Pom Pom Petals series, with more garden adventures coming soon.
